Code Orbit Brings a Free, Week-Long Scratch Coding Camp to Naperville Public Library

CODE ORBIT – FREE CODING PROGRAM Program Details Mentor: Rayansh Prasad Location: Naperville Public Library – Nichols Library, Illinois Dates: June 10 – June 24, 2026 Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Central Time Program Overview The Code Orbit Free Coding Program at Naperville Public Library – Nichols Library introduced students to programming fundamentals, computational thinking, and real-world problem-solving through interactive and hands-on learning. Led by Code Orbit mentor Rayansh Prasad, the program encouraged students to understand how programmers approach challenges, develop logical solutions, and turn ideas into working programs. Learning Areas 1. Programming Fundamentals: Students learned variables, data types, input and output, operators, and basic programming logic. 2. Computational Thinking: Students learned to break complex problems into smaller steps and develop logical solutions. 3. Python Programming: Students explored Python through practical exercises and small projects. 4. Scratch Programming: Students used Scratch to learn programming concepts through visual and interactive activities. 5. Debugging and Problem-Solving: Students learned to identify errors, test solutions, debug code, and improve programs. 6. Hands-On Projects: Students applied their learning through coding challenges and mini-projects. 7. Collaboration and Independent Learning: Students were encouraged to ask questions, collaborate, experiment, and learn from mistakes.
