The course focuses on developing problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and confidence with essential middle school math concepts that prepare students for Algebra I. Key Concepts Covered Number sense and operations Fractions, decimals, and percentages Ratios and proportions Integers and order of operations Variables, expressions, and equations Graphing and coordinate planes Data analysis and mathematical reasoning Real-world problem solving As a creative final project, students will design a "Math About Me" poster using fractions, ratios, shapes, graphs, and simple equations to describe their interests and experiences while applying the concepts learned throughout the course. This program is designed to help students strengthen their mathematical foundation, improve critical-thinking skills, and gain confidence in tackling more advanced math courses.
