Code Orbit Blasts Off at Naperville Public Library -Nichols Library, Illinois— Two Week, Endless Possibilities

This summer, twenty young minds at Naperville Public Library's Nichols Library branch traded screen time for code time — and the results were nothing short of inspiring.
Led by Code Orbit mentor Rayansh Prasad, the free week-long coding camp gave students a hands-on introduction to the world of programming. Each morning from 10–11 AM, the library buzzed with curiosity as kids dove into Scratch and Python, building their very first programs, debugging tricky errors, and watching their ideas come to life on screen.
What made this program special? It wasn't just about learning to code — it was about learning to think. Students practiced breaking big problems into small, manageable steps, a skill that will serve them far beyond the classroom. They experimented fearlessly, asked questions without hesitation, and discovered that mistakes are simply part of the process of building something great.
By the end of the week, participants weren't just following instructions — they were creating original projects, troubleshooting their own code, and proudly showing off what they'd built. The energy in the room said it all: confidence growing with every line of code, and a genuine excitement for technology that didn't exist a week before.
